Contemporary Master Class with Jason Coosner

We are thrilled to welcome Jason Coosner LIVE tomorrow at JAC for a contemporary master class! Saturday 13 March 1:30-3pm.


Jason Coosner is an international award winning choreographer, coach and deeply passionate educator based in Los Angeles, CA. Jason’s eye for detail and masterful understanding of technique, ability to extract organic performance and innovative choreography continues to attract dancers from around the world to work with him, and teachers to learn from him. He holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Dance from Southern Methodist University for which he received a full artistic scholarship and Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree Musical Theatre with a minor in both Dance and Business Administration from Elon University. He is the recipient of numerous choreography awards; most notably the Choreographic Recognition Award from Regional Dance America and the Outstanding Choreographer Award from Youth America Grand Prix, with his works consistently taking first place in both solo classical, contemporary and ensemble categories. His work has been featured at the Anaheim International Dance Festival and International Ballet Festival Miami. Jason created choreography for the award winning web series, INSTNT MSGS, directed by Justin Simien.


Including national and international conventions, Jason has taught master classes for the University of Indiana-Bloomington, Elon University, Long Beach Ballet, Collin County Ballet Theatre, SoCal Ballet, Southbay Ballet and Yuri Grigoriev School of Ballet, a Ballet Education’s, The Ballet Cinic and Norwalk Metropolitan Youth Ballet. For both summer and year round study, Jason’s students have been accepted at the Harid Conservatory, School of American Ballet, Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Bolshoi, The Rock School for Dance Education, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Ballet West and San Francisco Ballet. His graduating seniors have been accepted as dance majors at Juilliard, Boston Conservatory, NYU, CalArts, University of Michigan, SMU, UC Irvine, Temple University and SUNY Purchase. Jason has performed in over 20 regional productions including the Broadway National Tour of Kiss Me Kate.
